Dance Manitoba received this adorable note from one of our dearest friends... check out her show at the Winnipeg Fringe Festival....
Hey Dance Manitoba!
Happy July! We made it. Hopefully you're all enjoying the sun and finding some time to relax.
I am humbled and honoured to invite you to my heart and soul (my show) that will be premiering July.18th/2018 at 10pm.
This is my fifth year touring the North American Fringe Festival Circuit, and is the most exciting year yet. I have won CAFF. Meaning myself and 6 other Canadian companies have won entry into all North American fringe festivals of our choice. I have chosen 5. Winnipeg will be my second stop on my Canadian tour this summer.
I am performing my second ever solo show at the MTC Warehouse called Jellyfish are Immortal.
Jellyfish are Immortal ("a captivating piece of theatre" - Montreal Rampage) is an underwater adventure, TED-talk, dance show mixed with storytelling and a whole lot of heart. It's weird, provocative (gotta see it to believe it) theatre; it's me, it's what I do best. This is my most important work to date.
And you did hear right, there will be dance. Of course there will be.
If you want to check more of what I do, and who I am when I'm not husslin' on headset Stage Right at the MB Dance Festival, check out the facebook event:
Or check out this link to buy tickets:
I'd love to have you there. There's nothing I love more than having my worlds collide.
Take care and big marley stompin' love,

The film that will depict how Winnipeg came to have the massive hip hop dance scene it now has from its early b-boy/b-girl days in the mid 80's. To its dominance today in schools, studios and the underground.

Memories can define our past, present and future. Join us and celebrate Rachel Browne as a woman who championed feminism, socialist convictions and art.
Her sense of diligence, courage, discipline, love, passion and determination allowed her an uncompromising and illustrious career in dance. Rachel was a force to deal with and a joy to know and work with.
Remembering Rachel in the 2018 - 2019 season is extremely appropriate. The company she founded in 1964, “Winnipeg’s Contemporary Dancers”is celebrating its 55th Anniversary and numerous dance artists that weretrained and mentored by Rachel are making their mark in the community.
The School of Contemporary Dancers continues to honour Rachel through mounting her work, telling her stories and assuring the Rachel Browne Trust Scholarships are distributed with great care and integrity.
Please share your special memories with us and be a part of our movement to assure the now and future of the Rachel Browne Legacy.
By sharing your memory you automatically allow it to be a part of the WCD and SCD Archives as well as being listed on the Rachel Browne Web Site and The Winnipeg Dance Preservation Facebook Page.
