The Royal Winnipeg Ballet’s 79th season begins with Ballet in the Park, a treasured tradition that spans over four decades! Taking on Assiniboine Park’s Lyric Theatre stage at 7:30 pm daily, this free, family-friendly event runs from July 25-27 and is a wonderful way to experience ballet.
Not only will you have the opportunity to watch world-class ballet under the prairie sky, you will also see a sneak peek of The Wizard of Oz, Royal Winnipeg Ballet’s new creation! L. Frank Baum’s beloved tale of family, friendship, and courage will be brought to life by choreographer Septime Webre and we invite you to be among the first to see the ballet before it makes its Canadian premiere in May 2019.
Ballet in the Park also features a performance by the RWB School Recreational Division students along with excerpts of Romeo & Juliet danced by the RWB School Professional Division students.

We will be looking for two artists to share the role of Matilda in the production. The young artists will perform and rehearse in all three cities for the 2018/19 season: Winnipeg, Edmonton and Vancouver.
We are only accepting submissions from artists who reside in one of the three producing cities. Please submit only if you are able to attend the audition in person.
Please note these auditions are only for the role of Matilda. More information will be released in the fall regarding youth auditions. The youth ensemble will be cast locally in each city.

"Destroy!" she said opens Thursday, June 14 and runs till Saturday, 8pm nightly at the Rachel Browne Theatre. It's dark, it's hilarious, it's a collage of so many things that are relevant and wild and colourful and OH so necessary. The work was created by Mia Van Leeuwen with performers Ming Hon, Natasha Torres-Garner, Charlene Van Buekenhout, and myself with lighting design and projection by jaymez, sound by Davis Plett, co-design by Brenda MacLean, and stage management by Angelica Schwartz. WHAT A TEAM!

Creative Manitoba is hiring for an 8 week internship. We are looking for an enthusiastic student seeking summer employment to join our team and gain some valuable experience. The purpose of the Creative Manitoba Communications and Facility Intern position is to support the development and delivery of marketing materials and online learning content. The Intern will also assist in the management of the shared space at 245 McDermotincluding support for our Fringe Festival Venue.
The successful candidate must have been enrolled in post-secondary during the previous academic school year with plans to return to school in the fall. The candidate will have some communications and basic video production skills and ideally be participating in a post-secondary education arts or creative communications program.

Winnipeg Dance Force is seeking a part-time accredited ballet instructor to join our
amazing team of professional teachers! We are looking for an individual who can
instruct and develop technical training, instill a love for dance in students of all ages
and levels in our recreational and competitive divisions, and who can take students
beyond the syllabus.
The ability to teach other genres would be an asset, but is not a must. The candidate
should be enthusiastic, possess good communication skills, and have the ability to
demonstrate while maintaining an encouraging, positive, and nurturing classroom
environment. Candidates do not need to teach exclusively at WDF, and would be
able to fulfill hours on one or two weeknights and multiple hours on Saturdays.
